Our client is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Senior Purchasing Manager to oversee all aspects of procurement and strategic sourcing. This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in negotiating complex contracts, optimizing supply chains, and driving cost savings. You will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies and policies. Lead the sourcing and negotiation of key supplier contracts to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance evaluations, and foster strategic partnerships. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the procurement function. Oversee the entire procure-to-pay process, ensuring efficiency and compliance. Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify potential risks and opportunities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Finance) to understand their needs and ensure timely procurement of goods and services. Develop and manage departmental budgets. Mentor and lead a team of purchasing professionals. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Utilize procurement software and ERP systems to manage data and streamline operations. Conduct vendor due diligence and risk assessments. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for senior management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing, with at least 3 years in a management role. Proven experience in negotiating large, complex contracts and managing multi-million dollar spend. Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, market analysis, and risk management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud) and ERP systems. Experience in a Hybrid work environment, with the ability to balance remote and in-office collaboration effectively. Professional certifications such as CPSM or CIPS are a plus. Ability to travel occasionally as needed.
