Director of Procurement

RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchase supplies and securing services for the College
Establish rapport with departments and foster positive relationships
Establish relationships with vendors to discuss pricing, contracts and lead times
Oversee Response for Proposals (RFP) and solicitation process utilizing university,
federal and state regulations inclusive of preparing advertisements, conducting
pre-bid conferences, selection of evaluation committee, proposal evaluations,
pre-award, contract negotiation, execution and contract close out
Review of contracts
Manage annual spending of over $10 million
Approve and verify expenditures against budgetary accounts
Prepare technical and non-technical bid specification and regulatory
requirements
Collaborate initiatives with CFO, Facilities, Information Technology, Legal and
Human Resources
Develop and implement purchasing and travel policy and procedural processes
Conduct and moderate debriefing sessions to minimize contractor and vendor
disputes
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field from a regionally accredited U.S. university or
comparable non-U.S. university
Five years or more of progressively increasing responsibility in procurement and contracting,
sourcing and vendor relationship experience
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Effective communication and people skills
Considerable experience with complex negotiations and critical thinking skills
