Director of Procurement – Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering preferred
• 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related disciplines
• Prior experience leading supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and sourcing strategy
• Must have ERP system experience
• Prior exposure to global or overseas supply chain management strongly preferred
• CPSM certification preferred

Director of Procurement Must Haves

• Leads procurement strategy, vendor evaluation, and cost-saving initiatives
• Manages, trains, and mentors a team of buyers and sourcing professionals
• Develops supplier scorecards, oversees RFQs, contract terms, and vendor selection
• Collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align supply chain with product development
• Supports capital project planning, purchasing policy development, and forecasting
• Manages departmental budgeting, reporting, and procurement metrics
• Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and company-specific procurement standards

Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience in regulated manufacturing or industrial environments
• Knowledge of contract compliance, risk management, and vendor performance analysis
• Comfortable building procurement systems and processes from the ground up
• Effective communicator and negotiator with strong analytical skills
• Background working with international vendors and offshore sourcing is a plus
