We are excited to expand our team and are currently seeking a Lead Strategic Purchasing Manager to play a key role in developing a world-class Supply Chain. This position is based in our state-of-the-art facility in West Lafayette, IN, where we focus on manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the sourcing and procurement processes for materials, services, and production supplies.
Establish new vendor sources and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers through effective negotiation and management of agreements.
Drive improvements in supply chain processes by leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies and lean strategies to enhance competitiveness.
Optimize total landed cost while supporting production needs in a cost-efficient manner.
Identify and manage supplier risks, developing effective mitigation plans as necessary.
Represent Saab with integrity and professionalism, cultivating strong relationships with both internal customers and suppliers.
Collaborate with strategic sourcing managers across our global organization to ensure alignment and best practices.
Foster a people-first culture by embodying Saab's core values: Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support.
Participate in additional projects and initiatives as assigned.

Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $99,100-$128,800, based on experience and qualifications.

Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant sourcing experience required, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
Proven track record in vendor sourcing and contract negotiations.
Experience with U.S. government contracts (FAR/DFAR regulations) is a strong plus.
Leadership experience in a purchasing or supply chain team within a manufacturing context preferred.
Proficient in ERP systems and manufacturing-based sourcing.
Aerospace industry experience is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and engage effectively at all levels.
Exceptional organizational skills and a collaborative problem-solving approach.
Self-motivated with a commitment to delivering high-quality results across a global team.
