Join a dynamic healthcare organization in the Pacific Northwest region as an Associate Buyer, where you will play a vital role in managing the procurement and inventory of medical and operational supplies. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager and Supervisor, you will ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective purchasing to support clinical operations and supply chain continuity.

Job Summary

As an Associate Buyer, you will oversee perpetual, par, and periodic inventories, process departmental supply requisitions, and coordinate with vendors using Workday ERP. Your responsibilities include managing product returns, recalls, and backorders, while identifying opportunities for process improvements and supporting system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure formulary and approved items through Workday requisition workflows and punchout integrations.
  • Ensure compliance with GPO contracts, public district policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to verify coding, pricing, and prompt payment of orders.
  • Manage product returns, recalls, exchanges, and backorders, communicating updates to relevant teams.
  • Anticipate supply needs and proactively inform management and internal customers of potential interruptions.
  • Monitor changes to PAR locations and main stores, collaborating with departments during product conversions.
  • Support inventory management efforts alongside Inventory Control Specialists.
  • Assist with freight check-in, department transfers, and stocking activities as needed.
  • Maintain Workday ERP system data, including item master data and supply templates.
  • Contribute to future ERP buildouts and data conversions in partnership with IT and supply chain teams.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements within supply chain workflows.
  • Make informed decisions regarding supply shortages and recommend solutions based on data analysis.
  • Lead tasks or projects as directed and assist in policy and procedure development.
  • Collaborate on vendor setup and account maintenance.

Education and Experience

  • 12 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or inventory management.
  • 12 years of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Experience in healthcare or clinical settings is strongly preferred.
  • Associate's degree in business, supply chain, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) certification is a plus but not required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills across clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Understanding of clinical product usage and its impact on purchasing decisions.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in supply-sensitive environments.
