We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Pre-Construction Field Procurement Manager to serve as the primary link between our field offices and our supplier base. This role is pivotal in partnering directly with our HVAC Controls Sales Organization to develop accurate and competitive installation cost models for premier projects. The successful candidate will lead the development of installation costing, oversee the selection and qualification of third-party subcontractors, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, optimize working capital, and enhance communication between central procurement teams and branch offices. This position requires an individual with experience in electrical or mechanical controls trades who can effectively implement multiple supply chain strategies to ensure efficient procurement of subcontracted labor by branch offices.

As a Pre-Construction Field Procurement Manager, you will coordinate all operational procurement activities, utilizing established systems, processes, and procedures to manage the procurement of subcontract labor while ensuring full compliance with Johnson Controls' Business Operating System (BOS) procedures and Delegation of Authority (DoA) requirements. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with sales teams during project development phases to own the subcontract installation pricing, determining subcontractor strategies, reviewing scopes of work, qualifying and clarifying subcontractor requirements, and sourcing and reviewing quotes from third-party suppliers. You will also develop, host, and review all Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring contracts include adequate provisions for subcontractors. Maintaining strong, effective relationships with both suppliers and internal customers is a critical part of this role, requiring excellent communication and negotiation skills.

This position is ideal for someone with 5-8 years of project management experience in HVAC controls construction or trades, combined with procurement expertise focused on construction and HVAC equipment and services. Strong financial acumen, particularly in cost analysis, is essential for success in this role. Preferred qualifications include experience with design-build construction and electrical industry installation knowledge.   • Electrical industry equivalent experience or bachelor's degree
  • Experience in building systems or operational processes
