RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the enterprise-wide supply chain strategy, aligning procurement, inventory, logistics, and planning with operational and financial objectives.

• Own raw material procurement across the manufacturing footprint, including steel and related metals, and lead negotiations with mills and service centers to balance cost, availability, and risk.

• Stabilize and professionalize purchasing practices, reducing exposure to speculative buying, excess inventory, and commodity volatility while ensuring uninterrupted production.

• Drive improved inventory management and working capital performance through disciplined planning, forecasting, and material flow practices.

• Build, assess, and develop the supply chain and purchasing organization, establishing clear structure, accountability, and future-state capability.

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics strategy, identifying opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, service levels, and cost effectiveness.

• Partner closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, and plant leadership to improve S&OP alignment and ensure supply chain decisions support customer commitments and manufacturing performance.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO and executive leadership team, providing clear, fact-based insights on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of progressive supply chain or procurement leadership experience within manufacturing environments, including multi-site operations.

• Direct, hands-on experience purchasing steel or related metals, with demonstrated success negotiating mill and service center contracts in commodity-driven markets.

• Proven ability to operate effectively at both the strategic and execution levels in complex, operationally intensive organizations.

• Experience building, assessing, and leading supply chain teams through periods of change, growth, and increasing complexity.

• Strong analytical and operational discipline, with comfort leveraging data, forecasting tools, and business intelligence to inform decision-making.

• Decisive, credible leadership style with the ability to influence across functions and locations.

• Hands-on, visible leadership approach with comfort traveling extensively across manufacturing facilities.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
