Procurement Manager- Directs
DSJ GlobalAn established manufacturing organization is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and results‑oriented Procurement Manager - Direct Materials to support its strategic sourcing and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for sourcing and managing all direct materials required for production, including categories such as windows, gutters, and other core building components. The position plays a key role in improving quality, service, efficiency, and cost performance across the supply base while supporting multiple manufacturing and field operations teams. Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute direct‑material supply base strategies that strengthen regional and national supplier relationships and support long‑term organizational goals.Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships and convert those relationships into value‑added programs that enhance quality, service, safety, and cost.Evaluate and develop suppliers to ensure availability of direct materials used in production, supporting manufacturing operations and field‑based teams.Collaborate with design, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to implement new programs, materials, and process improvements that drive adoption and operational readiness.Apply best‑practice procurement methodologies and progressive supply‑chain tactics to elevate performance, drive efficiency, and support continuous improvement.Maintain a strong customer‑service orientation for internal and external stakeholders.Support execution of the company's new supply‑chain resiliency strategy, focusing on proactive risk mitigation rather than reactive issue resolution.Qualifications3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably focused on direct materials in homebuilding or similar manufacturing industries.Bachelor's degree required.Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to act assertively and with urgency.Demonstrated commitment to customer service.Proven project‑management experience, including change‑management leadership and problem‑solving capabilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines.Strong analytical skills.Ability to interpret and negotiate contract terms and conditions.Self‑directed; able to work effectively with minimal supervision.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization and supplier network.Process‑engineering experience or demonstrated ability to drive process improvements is highly beneficial, especially for candidates who can bridge supply chain and operational problem solving.
