Job Summary

The Director, Master Data Management - Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing data lifecycle management, ensuring data is accurately ingested, stored, and prepared for analysis. This role holds primary responsibility for Supply Chain Data, including the Item Master. The position manages data engineers and collaborates with IT to maintain a scalable data warehouse architecture. It includes leading a team of data analysts and engineers while working with stakeholders to understand and meet their data needs. The goal is to drive data-driven decision-making across clinical, operational, and executive areas of the organization with a critical focus on the integrity and governance of supply chain item data and pricing.

Essential Functions

  • Leads and mentors a team of data analysts and engineers, providing technical guidance, fostering professional development, and ensuring high-quality work output. This includes mentoring the team on item master data management within Oracle.
  • Oversees the post go-live optimization of Oracle for costing and item pricing while ultimately employing strategic automation to reduce the manual processes

currently occurring.

  • Leads the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion from diverse sources (hospitals, clinics, EDs, etc.) to onboarding, warehousing, transformation, and preparation for analysis. This includes managing all item builds in Oracle, ensuring accurate vendor, description, pricing, and, and managing the price feed from our GPO.
  • Collaborates with IT infrastructure teams to ensure seamless data flow, system integration, and optimal performance of data management systems. Integrate multiple systems and reconcile needs of different teams and communicate with stakeholders to understand issues and requirements
  • Works closely with the GPO on data synchronization and discrepancy resolution.
  • Directs systems’ development, implementation, and support to meet the needs of CHS departments, to provide data and other information ended to research specific usage trends, and to provide historical hospital data to internal and external vendors for research and analysis as needed.
  • Works closely with IS to ensure that data integrity of a central repository of historical data from all facilities, used for consolidated company-wide reporting and systems.
  • Monitors usage of data infrastructure, and recommends hardware and software upgrades and / or purchases to ensure that growing demands for information and data usage is available to corporate users, senior and executive management, and facilities timely and accurately.
  • Reports on the status and progress of all Data Management projects and operations, and makes recommendations for modifications of systems as needed.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and daily supervision of all Master Data Management staff on your team, providing leadership and management of the department through coaching, empowering, and facilitating employees working in a team environment.
  • Responsible for all post go-live stabilization of items and item costing data.
  • This Director is expected to have strong innate leadership qualities and drive process improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This is a remote opportunity for non-local candidates, requiring periodic travel to the corporate office.
  • Local candidates (commutable to Franklin, TN) are preferred and on a hybrid basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Healthcare Informatics, or related field required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 7-9 years of progressive experience in data management, data engineering, data architecture, data analytics, or related field required
  • Experience leading data teams and managing complex enterprise data platforms and initiatives required
  • Experience working with large-scale healthcare or enterprise data environments preferred
  • Oracle experience strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise data management practices, including data architecture, data governance, data modeling, and data lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle SCM and its configuration.
  • Proficiency in extracting data from Oracle Fusion SCM and employing automation to review and improve data accuracy within that platform.
  • Proficiency in Oracle reporting tools like OTBI, BIP, FDI, etc.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data platforms, cloud-based data solutions, and data engineering technologies.
  • Ability to lead technical teams responsible for complex data systems, analytics platforms, and enterprise data initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to operational leaders, executives, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in highly cross-functional environments and aligning data strategies with organizational priorities.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certifications in relevant areas such as data warehousing, cloud computing (Oracle, AWS, Azure), or healthcare data analytics are highly desirable preferred
