Client Overview

Our client is a global contract manufacturing organization that partners with many of the industry’s leading brands across diverse consumer product categories. They are now looking for an Indirect Procurement Buyer to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$65K - $80K

Position Overview

This person will be responsible for managing purchasing activity from requisition through order placement while helping improve pricing, payment terms, and vendor strategy. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting categories such as services, consumables, maintenance, logistics, and general business operations spend, and who is comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Logistics teams.

Responsibilities of the Indirect Procurement Buyer:

  • Manage the indirect purchasing process from requisition through purchase order issuance, ensuring orders are processed accurately and on time.
  • Support a high volume of purchasing activity while maintaining visibility to open orders, delivery timelines, and supplier commitments.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Logistics teams to support day-to-day purchasing needs and resolve order or invoice-related issues.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and service agreements with suppliers while identifying opportunities for cost savings and spend optimization.
  • Conduct RFQs, compare vendor bids, and support sourcing decisions across assigned indirect spend categories.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, support vendor onboarding, and monitor supplier performance, lead times, and service levels.
  • Assist with reporting, budgeting, and spend analysis to help improve purchasing efficiency and support broader procurement goals.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining workflows and reducing non-value-added activities.

Required Experience/Skills for the Indirect Procurement Buyer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting indirect spend categories strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify cost savings and support process improvements.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in SAP or a similar ERP system.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
