Category Management Specialist - One-MHS Procurement & Supply Chain
AmazonAmazon regularly brings new facilities online each year. However, the past approach has allowed each integrator to utilize their own equipment and methods, leading to significant variability among buildings that complicates support and scalability. The One MHS initiative is dedicated to fostering partnerships aimed at establishing uniformity and scalability throughout our operational network's future.
We will work closely with key suppliers to enhance their manufacturing capabilities, enabling better alignment with Amazon's requirements, and drive innovations to increase operational uptime.
We are in search of a Procurement Category Manager to join our One-MHS team. This role involves collaboration with internal business owners and key stakeholders to maximize procurement and operational value for our Material Handling Equipment (MHE) systems. As a Category Manager, you will spearhead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for essential equipment and components integral to the overall MHE systems.
Your responsibilities will include
- Creating and executing category sourcing strategies that align with One-MHS objectives.
- Leading cross-functional sourcing initiatives, negotiating with suppliers, and finalizing contracts to enhance Amazon’s competitive edge.
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and other procurement entities.
- Collaborating with global and local teams to ensure smooth implementation of established strategies.
- Influencing suppliers' product roadmaps and technology choices to align with Amazon’s procurement objectives.
- Leading complex cross-functional projects to enhance productivity and innovation within the category.
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to inform category strategies.
- Developing performance metrics and reporting systems to assess savings and supplier compliance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in data analysis for informed business decision-making.
- Experience in modeling complex business scenarios effectively.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills across multiple teams and organizations.
- Background in procurement and supplier relationship management.
- Experience with technical teams on new product development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in leveraging data analytics for decision-making.
- Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Understanding of Amazon's operations and procurement practices.
- Relevant certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is advantageous.

The base salary range for this position is detailed below, with additional compensation including sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors such as experience and qualifications. Amazon also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
