Our client, a leader in the (Industry Name) sector, is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Director of Supply Chain and Procurement. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise from any location. You will be responsible for optimizing all aspects of the supply chain—from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished goods—ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. The role demands a strong understanding of global procurement practices, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationship management while managing complex, international supply chains in a remote-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee all procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management for raw materials, components, and services.
- Manage global logistics, transportation, and warehousing to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Implement and manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost drivers to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring supply chain resilience.
- Lead and mentor a global team of supply chain and procurement professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, ethical standards, and sustainability initiatives.
- Implement and leverage technology solutions (e.g., ERP, SCM software) to streamline operations and improve visibility.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across R&D, manufacturing, sales, and finance to align supply chain activities with business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management and procurement, with significant experience in global operations.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex international supply chains and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk assessment.
- Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and demand planning principles.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) software.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Superior negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive and lead effectively in a remote, global work environment.
