Position Overview

The Director of Indirect Procurement will lead the strategy, governance, and execution of the company’s indirect procurement function across all corporate spend categories. This role is responsible for driving cost optimization, strengthening supplier partnerships, and establishing scalable procurement processes that support the organization’s broader business and transformation goals.

Reporting to the Chief Legal and Transformation Officer, this leader will work closely with Finance, Legal, HR, IT, and other business leaders to align procurement strategies with company priorities while ensuring strong compliance and risk management. The role requires a strategic thinker who can also operate hands-on to lead complex sourcing initiatives, negotiate high-value contracts, and build a high-performing procurement function that delivers measurable value.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead and oversee the indirect procurement function, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, policies, and compliance requirements
  • Develop and execute category strategies across indirect spend (e.g., IT, professional services, facilities, marketing, travel, HR), driving cost efficiency and value realization
  • Establish and maintain procurement governance, policies, and processes to ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management for high-value and high-risk categories
  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, HR, IT, and business leaders to align procurement strategies with business needs
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, digitization, and use of procurement analytics and tools
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing indirect procurement team, fostering capability development and cross-functional collaboration
  • Manage [$TBD M] in spend, with target to achieve ~ [TBD]% gross savings every year

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred) and 10 years of experience.
  • Extensive experience leading indirect procurement functions within a complex corporate environment
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings, value creation, and risk mitigation across indirect spend categories
  • Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and procurement governance
  • Strong analytical capabilities including should-costing and benchmarking
