LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization located south of Johnson County, who is seeking to hire a Procurement Specialist to support day-to-day purchasing operations and ensure the timely, cost-effective flow of materials needed to keep production running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who understands the pace and priorities of a manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with suppliers, operations, and internal stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead end-to-end procurement activities for indirect spending categories, including but not limited to: facilities, MRO, IT, professional services, marketing, and corporate services
· Develop and execute sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, supplier consolidation, and process efficiencies
· Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, demand forecasts, and service requirements
· Lead supplier identification, RFQs/RFPs, negotiations, and contract execution
· Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
· Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, audit requirements, and contractual obligations
· Analyze spending data to identify trends, risks, and cost-reduction opportunities
· Support contract management, including MSAs, SOWs, renewals, and compliance tracking
· Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, and category management teams to align procurement strategy with business objectives
· Drive process improvements across procure-to-pay (P2P) workflows and systems
· Act as a subject-matter expert for indirect procurement best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
· 7-10 years of procurement or purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
· Hands-on experience sourcing raw materials or production-related supplies
· Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
· Comfortable working cross-functionally with plant, production, and supply chain teams
· Solid negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
Pay Details: $135,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
