Director, Site Supply Chain


I am seeking a Director, Site Supply Chain for a manufacturing group in Texas.


Responsibilities:


Supply Chain Strategy & Governance

  • Own and execute site‑level supply chain strategy aligned with global sourcing and operational objectives.
  • Establish and enforce procurement, inventory, and supplier management policies.
  • Provide data‑driven insights to senior leadership on cost, risk, capacity, and supply continuity.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Lead all site sourcing activities, including direct materials, MRO, services, and outsourced support.
  • Drive supplier negotiations, including high‑value and long‑term commercial agreements.
  • Develop and execute cost‑reduction and value‑engineering initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships while mitigating risk exposure.

Inventory, Warehouse & Materials Operations

  • Define inventory policies, stocking strategies, and service‑level targets to support production.
  • Oversee warehouse, stockroom, and material flow operations.
  • Balance working capital efficiency with production reliability.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Production Control teams.
  • Support capital planning, budgeting, and spend authorization processes.

People Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Lead and develop a multi‑layer supply chain organization, including managers and indirect warehouse teams.
  • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean and best‑practice supply chain methodologies.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or sourcing experience within manufacturing.
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers.
  • Proven success in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across functions and geographies.
  • Experience in complex or capital‑intensive manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Industry background is flexible; manufacturing experience is required.
