Director of Supply Planning & Procurement
The Director of Supply Planning & Procurement will lead the transformation of multiple departments by unifying dispersed procurement functions, strengthening ownership of Master Planning within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, and modernizing procurement operations through enhanced planning discipline, process alignment, and automation.
This role requires a hands-on, forward-thinking leader capable of assessing current processes, aligning cross-functional teams, and building a scalable procurement and supply planning capability. The Director will play a key role in shifting the organization toward system-driven purchasing, where planning signals generated within the ERP environment guide procurement decisions, inventory strategy, and supplier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Unify Procurement Operations
- Consolidate procurement activities currently operating across multiple departments
- Establish a clear operating model for sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management
- Align teams around common processes, performance metrics, and accountability
Own Supply Planning Integration
- Lead procurement alignment with Master Planning in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
- Ensure planning signals drive purchasing activity and inventory strategy
- Improve demand visibility and supply planning coordination across the business
Evaluate and Strengthen the Team
- Assess current procurement roles, workflows, and responsibilities
- Align team structure to support a unified procurement and planning function
- Clarify ownership of supplier management, purchasing execution, and planning support
Drive Process Modernization
- Identify opportunities to streamline procurement workflows
- Reduce manual processes through automation and improved system utilization
- Partner with technology teams to introduce AI enabled and digital workflows where appropriate
Strengthen Supplier Performance
- Establish vendor performance metrics and supplier accountability
- Improve lead time reliability, cost visibility, and procurement responsiveness
- Support strategic supplier relationships that align with operational goals

Job Qualifications
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree
Experience
- 8 to 15 years of procurement, supply chain, or planning leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience owning or operating ERP driven supply planning (such as Master Planning in Dynamics 365, SAP MRP, or Oracle planning tools), including translating planning signals into procurement execution.
- Experience operating within ERP driven supply chain environments (Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Demonstrated success improving procurement or planning operations
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong operational leadership
- Process redesign and change management experience
- Comfortable working with ERP planning tools and supply chain data
- Experience introducing automation or digital workflow improvements
