Procurement Specialist

Fit Recruiting is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer for an established industrial company in Mobile, Alabama. This position will support project procurement by sourcing materials, managing purchase orders, coordinating vendors, tracking deliveries, and helping control material costs.

The ideal candidate will have purchasing or procurement experience in an industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or related environment and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven setting. Salary is in the $50K-$65K range, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Source and evaluate vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, capabilities, and service
• Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders for project materials
• Verify specifications, terminology, quantities, and other purchasing requirements
• Track purchase orders and maintain material delivery schedules
• Coordinate with Receiving to ensure materials are received correctly and according to specifications
• Allocate inventory and order non-stock materials through the ERP system
• Arrange freight as needed and assist with freight claims
• Monitor inventory and assist with year-end audits
• Maintain procurement records, reports, and vendor cost information
• Monitor vendor performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and terms
• Identify purchasing or supply-chain bottlenecks and help implement solutions
• Resolve vendor, contract, and supplier-related issues

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing, buyer, or procurement experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of contract language and commercial terms and conditions
• Working knowledge of Incoterms
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with ASME code materials is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
