Director of Procurement

Fit Recruiting is seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to join a well-established industrial manufacturing organization in the Mobile area. This is a key leadership role responsible for developing and managing procurement and supply chain strategy, strengthening vendor relationships, controlling costs, and ensuring materials are sourced and delivered to support project schedules. Salary ranges from $80K-$110 depending on level of experience.

Duties:

• Develop and implement an overall procurement and supply chain strategy
• Establish and monitor key supply chain KPIs
• Build and maintain a strong, competitive vendor network
• Develop vendor scorecards based on quality, delivery, pricing, and commercial terms
• Lead competitive bidding and strategic sourcing initiatives
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, freight rates, and vendor programs
• Source domestic and international materials as needed
• Monitor purchasing budgets and track actual costs against budget
• Track material cost escalation and communicate potential impacts to Project Management and Finance
• Partner with Estimating and Purchasing on material sourcing
• Process and manage purchase orders to support project timelines
• Track and expedite orders to ensure materials arrive according to schedule
• Manage inventory allocation and job costing within the ERP system
• Identify supply chain bottlenecks and implement solutions
• Resolve vendor and contract issues
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, vendor performance, and cost efficiency

Requirements:

• Strong experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or strategic sourcing
• Demonstrated experience developing procurement and vendor strategies
• Strong vendor negotiation and relationship-management skills
• Knowledge of contract language and commercial terms and conditions
• Working knowledge of Incoterms
• Experience with ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments
• Familiarity with ASME code materials is a plus
