Reporting to the Senior Director Supply Chain, the Staff Planner will be responsible for demand planning, supply planning, production scheduling, and global distribution, including management of the Sales & Operations Planning process. This role will provide support with purchasing and logistics related tasks as required. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, R&D, operations, and finance, to gather demand forecasts and develop production plans. Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts, inventory targets, shelf life, and capacity constraints. Monitor inventory levels and production performance, managing changes, identifying potential risks and opportunities to optimize inventory levels while meeting customer demand. Plan and execute global distribution of materials and products. Work closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components. Support R&D with planning for new product introductions, including ERP setup, testing, and accuracy. Lead the global business process for Sales and Operations Planning. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of supply chain processes. Analyze and report on key performance metrics, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, production variances, and sales order fulfillment, to track performance and drive informed decision-making. Ensure timely delivery of products to customers, successful execution of new product introductions, and effective management of excess and obsolete inventory. Assist with purchasing, logistics, warehousing, and material handling as required. Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day. Ability to travel up to 10% working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel at times. A minimum 8 years of planning and global supply chain management, preferably in the life science tools industry, with a Bachelor's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; Strong knowledge of demand forecasting methodologies, inventory management principles, and supply chain best practices. SAP, Netsuite), Microsoft Excel, and AI-based tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights. This role is based on site in Foster City, CA or San Diego, CA. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
