Brief Description

As a Sourcing Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing sourcing and procurement strategies for assigned equipment, supply, and service categories across the Vitalant System. The Sourcing Manager will lead cross-functional sourcing projects, vendor selection, contracting and contract management initiatives in support of Vitalant, affiliates and related entities. This is an individual contributor position and does not supervise staff.

As a Sourcing Manager, You'll Get To

  • Conduct market research for alternative products/services and procurement sources.
  • Analyze trends in commodity markets, changes in industry, technology, regulatory changes and trends in Vitalant spend.
  • Prepare and maintains basic project plans. Use a plan to align team members and successfully achieve timing milestones and outcomes.
  • Evaluate RFI and RFP responses and broadly consider vendor sourcing opportunities. Lead a cross-functional team through a structured bid evaluation and selection process.
  • Negotiates contracts for capital equipment, supplies and services. Provides transitional project planning and oversight of switch-overs when awarding contracts to new suppliers.
  • Independently develops RFP documents to meet Vitalant stakeholder needs. Ensures RFP bid and negotiation process is conducted in the most fair and ethical manner.
  • Prepares accurate bid analysis and creates presentations and cost modules to recommend the most responsive and responsible bidder on Total Cost of Ownership. Presents and makes recommendations to leadership.
  • Applies fact-based negotiation tactics to resolve differences between vendor and Vitalant ensuring an acceptable outcome for both parties. Seeks assistance from Senior Sourcing Manager as needed.
  • Provides support to management (inside and outside Corporate Supply Chain) in planning and executing sourcing strategies for specific projects. Facilitates constructive change through strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with strategic vendors to ensure key spend categories are under contract. Mitigates supply risk by monitoring and adapting to changes in the supplier’s operations, product quality, capabilities to supply, key personnel or other factors that could impair Vitalant operations.
  • Decides if proposed contract changes and modifications are reasonable and in the best interest of Vitalant. Consults with Strategic Sourcing Manager as appropriate.

Note: Salary will be determined based on Years of Experience and Geographical Location. Compensation shown in National Office Salary Range. Depending upon location hired, the position could be hybrid or in-office based on the office locations proximity to a regional office location.

Requirements

Knowledge/ Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply

Management) preferred.

Experience

  • Five years of related experience required.

To Include

  • Three years sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management

experience.

  • Experience in healthcare Supply Chain Management environment preferred.
  • Experience in Workday required - Strategic Sourcing Module.
  • Experience in project management preferred
