JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented US Customs Manager to lead our customs compliance and import/export operations. This role is critical to ensuring seamless, compliant customs processes while maintaining positive relationships with US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) officials and external partners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, comprehensive customs knowledge, and a commitment to building a collaborative, compliant workplace culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all US customs operations and ensure 100% compliance with CBP regulations and company policies
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative internal team working relationships across multiple business units, and build relationships with CBP officials, trade partners, and port authorities
  • Conduct tariff classification analysis and tariff stacking reviews to optimize duties and reduce landed costs
  • Lead cross-functional teams through customs audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Resolve customs classification disputes and appeals to protect company interests
  • Develop and deliver training programs on customs compliance for warehouse, shipping, and procurement teams
  • Create and implement documentation protocols to ensure accuracy and reduce processing delays
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work culture focused on compliance excellence and continuous improvement
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update internal procedures accordingly
  • Manage duty drawback claims and refund processes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in US customs management, compliance, or related customs operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CBP regulations, tariff classification, and import/export procedures
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with CBP officials and customs brokers
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills is a must
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with customs documentation and clearance systems
  • Experience managing customs audits and compliance reviews
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CBP Advanced Certification or Customs Broker License
  • Experience with trade agreements (USMCA, GSP, etc.)
  • Supply chain management background
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish)
  • Active involvement in customs industry associations
