Salary: $65,000 - $85,000
Job Summary: Our client, a growing food manufacturer, is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join their team. The ideal candidate will oversee various aspects of purchasing and procurement, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and manage purchase orders, including quantities, delivery schedules, and freight arrangements.
- Maintain precise inventory records, including safety stock levels.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Complete customer request questionnaires accurately and promptly.
- Manage and update purchase records and databases to ensure data integrity.
- Liaise with internal teams and external entities for ingredient reviews and approvals.
- Establish and manage item numbers for work-in-progress, finished goods, and packaging.
- Fulfill document and raw material requests from suppliers and customers.
- Organize and maintain accessible files, ensuring data validation in both electronic and hard copy formats.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Cultivate effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct vendor audits to optimize pricing strategies.
- Create and update shipping instructions as necessary.
- Assist in negotiating annual contracts and support special projects as assigned.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time, meeting audit standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and purchasing departments as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management, or related fields.
- Familiarity with food regulations, ingredient functionality, and basic manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Excellent customer service orientation and ability to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong mathematical skills and analytical reasoning.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities with a focus on risk management.
