Terra Energy is building the most efficient, scalable residential solar platform in the country. We move fast, we execute, and we remove friction from the traditional solar model. Our operations depend on having the right equipment in the right place at the right time — every week.

The Role

Terra is hiring an internal Procurement Lead to own procurement across all major equipment categories, including solar panels, inverters, batteries (as applicable), racking, BOS components, and related materials.

Your job is simple: keep Terra supplied, protect the install schedule, and prevent delays caused by inventory shortages.

This is not a “get three quotes and pick one” role. We want someone aggressive, creative, and relentless — able to uncover supply and pricing opportunities the market assumes aren’t available, while still running a disciplined procurement process.

What You’ll Own

• End-to-end procurement across all solar equipment categories
• Supplier relationships across manufacturers, distributors, and backup channels
• Pricing, allocation, lead times, delivery scheduling, and continuity planning
• Inventory readiness so we never hit a 2–3 month “out of equipment” cycle again

Scope of Procurement

This role covers procurement of:

• Solar panels / modules
• Inverters (string, hybrid, microinverters as applicable)
• Batteries / storage (as applicable)
• Racking / mounting systems
• Balance of System (BOS): wire, conduit, breakers, disconnects, combiners, meters, etc.
• Any additional equipment required to maintain installation velocity and operational continuity

Responsibilities

• Own purchasing strategy and execution across all equipment categories
• Build direct relationships with manufacturers and high-leverage supply partners
• Negotiate pricing, terms, allocation, lead times, and delivery schedules
• Prevent stockouts using forecasting, reorder triggers, and safety stock planning
• Track inventory weekly and escalate risks early (before installs get impacted)
• Own procurement execution end-to-end: quote → PO → shipment → receiving → issue resolution
• Coordinate with Ops, warehouse/logistics, install teams, and finance
• Solve supply problems fast: shortages, delays, spec changes, damages, vendor failures
• Maintain redundancy: supply should never depend on one vendor, one channel, or one person
• Build a simple procurement operating system (clean process, clear reporting, no chaos)

We’re not looking for a traditional procurement manager. We want someone who:

• Hunts opportunities aggressively
• Uses creative / guerilla sourcing tactics
• Creates leverage through relationships, timing, and volume strategy
• Moves fast, follows through, and doesn’t wait for perfect conditions

At the same time, continuity and scheduling are equally critical — you must be disciplined enough to keep operations predictable.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain
• Experience buying high-volume equipment (solar strongly preferred)
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
• Manufacturing-side experience or deep exposure to factory/distribution realities
• Highly organized, execution-driven, and accountable
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with changing demand

• Orders placed early and intentionally — not reactive purchasing
• Stable weeks-of-supply coverage aligned to forecast
• Strong supplier performance and delivery reliability
• Better-than-market pricing through leverage and creativity
• Reduced emergency freight, last-minute buying, and scramble cycles

Reporting / Team

• Works cross-functionally with warehouse, installation ops, and finance
• High visibility with leadership due to direct impact on growth and execution
