The Position
The Director of Commercial & Procurement Governance is responsible for leading capital project procurement strategy, cost governance, and materials management controls to ensure all procurement activities are contract-compliant, cost-effective, auditable, and fully aligned with project cost, schedule, and governance requirements.
This role has full ownership of purchase order compliance standards and controls, ensuring that all procurement transactions are accurate, properly approved, aligned with contract terms, supported by complete documentation, and traceable across company systems. The Director partners closely with Project Controls, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams to mitigate risk, enforce sourcing discipline, and support successful project delivery.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Project Leadership: Direct and manage construction projects across the region, ensuring accountability for budgets, schedules, quality, and safety.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary contact with general contractors, owner-direct vendors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships.
- Budget & Schedule Oversight: Review, track, and forecast project budgets, cost reports, and schedules; identify risks and mitigation strategies.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop regional project management staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional STACK teams (Engineering, EH&S, Finance, Operations) to ensure alignment and delivery excellence.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and resolve project challenges to maintain delivery commitments.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports, updates, and analyses for senior leadership, clients, and partners as required.
- Culture & Standards: Champion a culture of safety, quality, professionalism, and innovation across all projects.

- Location: Remote
- Travel: Domestic travel required, up to 30%

Must-have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, cost management, or project controls, including leadership roles.
- Deep understanding of procurement controls, PO compliance, contract management, and cost governance.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, competitive bidding, and contract administration.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to enforce standards while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Significant experience managing procurement governance frameworks in capital projects, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
Compensation Range
$182,000.00 - $204,000.00
