The Supply Chain Coordinator I is responsible for efficiently managing the flow of physical parts within the manufacturing facility to ensure timely fulfillment of production requirements. Key duties include coordinating part routing, optimizing distribution processes, and facilitating material movement to maximize manufacturing efficiency. Collaborating closely with internal supply chain teams, this role expedites work orders, conducts inventory management tasks, and monitors key performance indicators to drive operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate the routing of physical parts to appropriate distribution centers in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
  • Proactively maintain and optimize parts distribution processes to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Facilitate material movement around the facility to ensure efficient use of manufacturing time & space.
  • Collaborate with internal supply chain teams to ensure timely fulfillment of manufacturing needs.
  • Expedite and prioritize work orders to meet production demands.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts to reconcile physical and system inventory.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, including adjustments and cycle counting, to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Support internal work order processing.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery and shipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Actively seek out opportunities for process improvement.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly production meetings.
  • Attend and contribute to open book management.
  • Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned, including backup for other business unit personnel, to ensure support of the production plan.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Ability to efficiently utilize Microsoft Office, JDE, and a scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Knowledge of the master data that drives forecasting, planning, scheduling, and shipping within an ERP system.
  • Self-starter and goal oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in parallel in a time sensitive environment.
  • Possess a working knowledge of master scheduling with multiple levels of processes required to reach the stage.
  • Possess a working knowledge of engineering prints and manufacturing capacity to effectively determine need dates for material.

Education And Experience

  • Associates Degree in Materials Management or similar discipline preferred. Other degree fields and related experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years related experience in manufacturing production forecasting or planning is preferred for this position.

Base Compensation Range: $22.85 - $34.28 per hour

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

Working Conditions

Professional office environment with some manufacturing shop environment. Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets, etc.). Frequent presence on the manufacturing floor as well as field operations. Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures. Machinery with energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, or other energy.
