Senior Director, Procurement
Pay Details
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $225,000 to $250,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Senior Director of Procurement leads OCVIBE’s purchasing and procurement function and works closely with affiliated entities to drive significant improvements in sourcing strategy across the dynamic sports, entertainment and hospitality sector. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement processes, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in vendor management, process optimization, and strategic sourcing. This role oversees workflow enhancement and vendor consolidation and manages the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to ensure we achieve the highest quality and cost-efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a robust procurement strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives, optimizing sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and value creation
  • Identify opportunities for vendor consolidation to streamline procurement processes and enhance bargaining power
  • Leverage Procurement system modules to streamline procurement and payment processes, ensuring seamless integration with other business functions such as finance, inventory management, and supply chain operations to enhance overall efficiency and data accuracy
  • Utilize advanced analytics and reporting features to gain actionable insights into procurement performance, supplier trends, and spend analysis, enabling data-driven decision-making and strategic sourcing improvements
  • Implement and manage automated procurement workflows to reduce manual tasks, minimize errors, and accelerate procurement cycles, from requisition and approval processes to purchase orders and vendor payments
  • Evaluate existing vendor relationships and negotiate new contracts to secure favorable terms, conducting periodic supplier performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards
  • Assess current procurement workflows and identify areas for improvement, implementing best practices and innovative solutions and leveraging technology to automate and streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
  • Streamline and automate purchase order creation, approval, and tracking to increase efficiency and reduce error rates
  • Lead the RFP process for major procurement projects, including developing RFP documents, managing the submission and evaluation process, and selecting suppliers
  • Ensure that RFPs are structured to elicit the best responses and align project requirements and budget constraints
  • Oversee the procurement budget, ensuring that spending aligns with financial goals and delivers value
  • Monitor procurement costs and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets while maintaining quality standards
  • Conduct thorough market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive pricing and use insights to inform sourcing strategies and anticipate market shifts
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including potential disruptions and compliance issues
  • Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to address cross-departmental needs and challenges
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)) is preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience in purchasing and procurement
  • Experience within the sports, entertainment and hospitality industries is preferred
  • Knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, contract management, and vendor relations, focusing on industry best practices and trends
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and contract management, including compliance with industry standards and company policies
  • Knowledge and familiarity with procurement software and systems, such as ERP and e-sourcing tools, and the ability to leverage these technologies for process improvements and data management
  • Expertise in analyzing market trends, supply chain risks, and industry developments relevant to the sports, entertainment and hospitality industries to inform strategic sourcing decisions
  • Proficiency in budget management, cost analysis, and financial reporting related to procurement activities to ensure alignment with organizational financial goals
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, manage contract disputes, and drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards
  • Practical project management skills to oversee the procurement lifecycle, manage RFP processes, and implement workflow improvements and optimizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders, negotiate with external suppliers, and present procurement strategies and outcomes
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess procurement data, identify trends, and solve complex problems related to supply chain management and vendor performance
  • Able to develop and execute a long-term procurement strategy that aligns with company goals and adapts to changing market conditions and organizational needs
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, manage vendor performance, and drive improvements in service and delivery
  • Able to analyze and enhance procurement workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement best practices and technological solutions to optimize procurement processes
  • Able to work effectively with other departments to ensure alignment of procurement activities with overall business objectives and operational needs
