Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Director of Sales – Warehousing & Distribution is a high-impact, revenue-driving leader responsible for developing new business and expanding strategic partnerships across public/shared warehousing, labor-only solutions, and dedicated distribution models, while also positioning NFI’s full portfolio of services.

This is a role for a true hunter. A builder. A closer.

Important: This is not a fully remote role. The selected candidate will be required to work in person from one of our corporate offices located in Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Dallas, TX; or Columbus, OH. Travel will be required based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

Drive an aggressive “hunting” approach to prospecting, maintaining an active pipeline exceeding $30M

Execute $10M+ in annualized new business within the first 12–24 months

Retain, expand, and strategically grow existing customer relationships

Develop innovative, competitive solutions and proposals that win business

Partner closely with engineering, operations, and executive leadership to design compelling, value-driven solutions

Conduct customer business reviews and maintain executive-level relationships

Monitor account performance, profitability, and contract compliance

Participate in rate schedule development and contract negotiations

Maintain disciplined CRM management (Salesforce) and pipeline reporting

Communicate effectively across internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite decision-makers

What We’re Looking For

5–7+ years of sales experience within the 3PL logistics industry

Deep knowledge of warehousing and distribution solutions

Proven success prospecting and closing complex new business

Strong national (and ideally global) industry network

Demonstrated ability to sell consultatively and at the executive level

Analytical mindset, able to assess, design, and price winning solutions

Skilled negotiator who protects margin while expanding share of wallet

Exceptional presentation and communication skills (virtual and in-person)

Professional, polished, and highly organized

High energy, self-starter with a “can-do” mentality

Comfortable navigating change with agility and flexibility

Data-driven decision-maker who understands which opportunities are worth pursuing
