Job Summary

Naadam is seeking a strategic, analytically rigorous, and collaborative Senior Director of Demand and Supply Planning to lead the company's end-to-end planning function across E-commerce, Wholesale, Retail, Amazon, Private Label, and other business channels. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will translate company strategy into integrated financial, demand, inventory, and promotional plans that drive profitable growth, optimize working capital, and maintain healthy inventory levels. Because Naadam designs and manufactures its own product overseas and imports against tight seasonal windows, this is a demand and supply planning role, not merchandise planning alone. It carries the supply plan, the inventory investment, and the working capital consequence of both.

The Senior Director will serve as the executive planning partner to Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product Development, Sourcing and Production, and Operations; lead high-impact business reviews and scenario planning; and build the processes, tools, and team capabilities needed to support Naadam's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the vision, strategy, and operating cadence for the planning function, aligning annual, seasonal, and in-season plans with company growth, profitability, cash flow, and inventory objectives.
  • Work strategically with Merchandising, Marketing, and E-commerce to model assortment scenarios and identify opportunities to pivot product allocation, depth, and breadth across channels to drive growth, optimize margins, and respond to in-season performance.
  • Own the company-wide demand planning and forecasting process across E-commerce, Wholesale, Retail, Amazon, Private Label, and other business channels, with plans by channel, category, style, and SKU as appropriate.
  • Own the supply plan behind the forecast: translate demand into production and purchase commitments with Sourcing and Production, align factory and mill capacity against demand priorities, and keep inventory availability matched to the plan as capacity, lead times and delivery dates move.
  • Lead merchandise financial planning and the Open-to-Buy process in partnership with Merchandising and Finance, establishing margin, receipt, and inventory targets by channel, recognizing different margin and velocity requirements across E-commerce, Wholesale, Retail, and Amazon, and serving as a key partner on cross-functional efforts to achieve IMU targets through channel mix, assortment architecture, and promotional strategy.
  • Develop rolling forecasts and scenario models that anticipate business volatility; stress-test assumptions and partner cross-functionally on rapid re-forecasting and rebalancing in response to changing market conditions, inventory availability, and discounting plans.
  • Establish and monitor planning KPIs, including sell-through, weeks of supply, inventory turns, aging, in-stock rates, forecast accuracy, gross margin, and IMU; drive timely actions to improve performance.
  • Direct inventory and receipt flow strategies across channels and fulfillment locations to balance customer demand, cash flow, warehouse capacity, and availability, owning the receipt plan and inbound timing assumptions in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Own the planning inputs to inbound and landed cost, holding ex-factory dates against the receipt plan and modeling freight mode trade-offs against margin and in-stock.
  • Partner with Finance on the working capital consequences of production and shipping timing, including duty and tariff timing in the inventory and cash plan, and bring the short-ship or hold recommendation when production slips against a ship window or letter of credit deadline.
  • Lead in-season business management, including weekly and monthly performance reviews, re-forecasting, and inventory rebalancing.
  • Partner closely with Marketing on promotional strategy and discount rate planning, including modeling margin impact, promotional cadence, and volume tradeoffs; proactively advise on clearance and liquidation planning in partnership with Sales.
  • Own Amazon 1P / Vendor Central planning strategy, including inventory allocation, purchase order confirmation, ship window management and extensions, short-ship and hold recommendations, promotional cadence, sales forecasts, and profitability targets in partnership with the Revenue team.
  • Partner with Merchandising and Product Development on pre-season investments, assortment architecture, style-level buys, size curves, and hindsight analysis to inform future product and financial decisions.
  • Build scalable planning processes, reporting dashboards, analytical frameworks, and SOPs; improve data quality and automate recurring work through effective use of systems and technology.
  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop planning team members, setting clear priorities and accountability while fostering strong analytical thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Skills

  • Expertise in demand planning, merchandise financial planning, Open-to-Buy management, inventory optimization, supply planning, landed cost and duty modeling, and multi-channel retail strategy.
  • Advanced financial and analytical acumen, with a deep understanding of revenue, gross margin, IMU, markdowns, sell-through, inventory turns, and channel-level profitability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including complex financial models and scenario analysis; experience with NetSuite, Shopify, and a track record of building planning infrastructure where no dedicated planning platform exists.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights, business implications, and decisive recommendations for senior and executive audiences.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional leaders, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Proven people leadership and organizational development skills, including building teams, coaching talent, delegating effectively, and establishing accountability.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent prioritization and project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple workstreams and respond effectively to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, Economics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in merchandise planning, demand planning, financial planning, or a related discipline within fashion, apparel, retail, or consumer goods.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading and developing planning teams, including ownership of a planning function or significant multi-channel business.
  • Demonstrated success managing planning through periods of growth, transformation, or changing business conditions.
  • Significant experience in a multi-channel environment spanning DTC E-commerce, Wholesale, Retail, and marketplaces such as Amazon. Direct experience with imported product: supplier capacity, purchasing cadence, landed cost, and inventory held across more than one fulfillment location.
  • Proven experience partnering with and presenting to executive leadership, with a track record of influencing high-impact financial, inventory, and commercial decisions.

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Personal, and Sick)
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Family Leave
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Hybrid Work - Employees are required to be in office Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary Range: $185,000 - $205,000 + performance bonus

Salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
