The Vice President, Procurement is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and operational excellence of enterprise-wide procurement, sourcing, supplier relationship management, and materials strategy for Maverick Power. As a rapidly scaling manufacturer of engineered-to-order electrical control and distribution systems, Maverick Power requires a procurement leader who can ensure continuity of supply, optimize cost structure, and build a world-class sourcing ecosystem that supports aggressive growth, margin expansion, and on-time delivery performance.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Vice President partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Production Planning & Fulfillment, Finance, and Program Management to ensure material readiness, supplier scalability, and procurement capabilities that support a multi-site, high-growth manufacturing environment. This executive role owns sourcing strategy, supplier performance, cost and risk management, and the development of a high-performing procurement organization.

The Vice President, Procurement is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and operational excellence of enterprise-wide procurement, sourcing, supplier relationship management, and materials strategy for Maverick Power. As a rapidly scaling manufacturer of engineered-to-order electrical control and distribution systems, Maverick Power requires a procurement leader who can ensure continuity of supply, optimize cost structure, and build a world-class sourcing ecosystem that supports aggressive growth, margin expansion, and on-time delivery performance.

This executive role owns sourcing strategy, supplier performance, cost and risk management, and the development of a high-performing procurement organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Executive Leadership
- Develop and execute an enterprise-wide procurement and sourcing strategy aligned with Maverick Power’s operational objectives, growth trajectory, and multi-site manufacturing footprint.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Head of Operations and executive leadership team on supply risk, cost structure, commodity trends, supplier capacity, market conditions, and sourcing decisions.
- Establish procurement as a scalable, value-driving, digitally enabled function capable of supporting rapid expansion, ETO/CTO product demands, and complex engineered systems.
- Lead procurement strategy for new facilities, capacity expansions, and long-term supply chain design to support backlog growth and future-state production.
- Drive digital transformation—including automation, advanced analytics, and procurement system optimization—to modernize visibility, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Lead sourcing strategies across direct and indirect categories supporting engineered-to-order electrical equipment including low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, ATS, PDUs, components, and power distribution systems.
- Develop, negotiate, and maintain strategic supplier partnerships and long-term agreements to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, delivery performance, and scalability.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiation, risk allocation, compliance, renewals, and commercial governance.
- Direct supplier segmentation, supplier onboarding, and comprehensive governance processes including scorecards, KPIs, quarterly business reviews, and executive-level supplier performance discussions.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for resolving critical supplier issues related to quality, delivery, inventory, commercial terms, and capacity.
- Ensure continuity of supply through proactive planning, dual/multi-sourcing, scenario modeling, and structured risk mitigation strategies.
- Partner closely with Production Planning & Fulfillment to align sourcing decisions with build schedules, backlog growth, capacity planning, and customer delivery commitments.
- Oversee inventory strategies—including safety stock policies, lead-time reduction efforts, and material availability planning—to support on-time production and project execution.
- Align material and supplier roadmaps with Engineering and Operations to ensure technical specifications, qualification testing, and product lifecycle considerations are incorporated into sourcing strategy.
- Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) strategies through strategic sourcing, should-cost modeling, value engineering, commercial negotiation, and supply chain optimization initiatives.
- Utilize spend analytics, market intelligence, and supplier benchmarking to identify savings opportunities and operational improvements across commodities.
- Implement Lean principles, best-in-class procurement processes, and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support enterprise scalability.
- Lead annual cost-reduction programs and long-range cost strategy planning to support margin expansion and financial objectives.
- Serve as the primary procurement interface with Engineering, Operations, Production Planning, Finance, Program Management, and senior leadership.
- Participate in strategic planning for growth initiatives, facility expansions, supply chain architecture, and production scaling.
- Communicate procurement performance, risks, opportunities, and strategy clearly and proactively to executive stakeholders.
- Ensure strong alignment and transparency across internal teams to support seamless execution of production and project requirements.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, multi-site procurement organization with clear roles, talent development paths, and succession planning.
- Create a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement consistent with Maverick Power’s values.
- Set performance standards, KPIs, and metrics that drive excellence across sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and materials strategy.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, corporate policy, and contractual requirements across all procurement activities.
- Champion ethical sourcing practices, supplier diversity initiatives, sustainability programs, and responsible supply chain stewardship.
- Maintain transparent, compliant supplier interactions and competitive sourcing processes.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business preferred.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Minimum of 12years of progressive procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership in discrete manufacturing, ideally within ETO/CTO environments.
- Proven success leading procurement organizations through rapid growth, complexity, and multi-site expansion.
- Experience in power distribution equipment, electrical systems, power electronics, capital equipment manufacturing, or closely related industries strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage enterprise supplier relationships and long-term agreements.
- Deep experience supporting production planning, engineering collaboration, and material readiness for engineered systems.
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP platforms (Epicor Kinetic, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Expertise in sourcing strategy, TCO, cost modeling, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical capability including spend analytics, market research, risk assessment, and scenario planning.
- Familiarity with Lean, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional executive communication, persuasive negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with significant complexity and competing priorities.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
