Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Vice President partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Production Planning & Fulfillment, Finance, and Program Management to ensure material readiness, supplier scalability, and procurement capabilities that support a multi-site, high-growth manufacturing environment. This executive role owns sourcing strategy, supplier performance, cost and risk management, and the development of a high-performing procurement organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Executive Leadership

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide procurement and sourcing strategy aligned with Maverick Power’s operational objectives, growth trajectory, and multi-site manufacturing footprint.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Head of Operations and executive leadership team on supply risk, cost structure, commodity trends, supplier capacity, market conditions, and sourcing decisions.
  • Establish procurement as a scalable, value-driving, digitally enabled function capable of supporting rapid expansion, ETO/CTO product demands, and complex engineered systems.
  • Lead procurement strategy for new facilities, capacity expansions, and long-term supply chain design to support backlog growth and future-state production.
  • Drive digital transformation—including automation, advanced analytics, and procurement system optimization—to modernize visibility, forecasting, and decision-making.

Sourcing, Supplier Management & Contract Leadership

  • Lead sourcing strategies across direct and indirect categories supporting engineered-to-order electrical equipment including low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, ATS, PDUs, components, and power distribution systems.
  • Develop, negotiate, and maintain strategic supplier partnerships and long-term agreements to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, delivery performance, and scalability.
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiation, risk allocation, compliance, renewals, and commercial governance.
  • Direct supplier segmentation, supplier onboarding, and comprehensive governance processes including scorecards, KPIs, quarterly business reviews, and executive-level supplier performance discussions.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for resolving critical supplier issues related to quality, delivery, inventory, commercial terms, and capacity.

Continuity of Supply, Material Readiness & Inventory Strategy

  • Ensure continuity of supply through proactive planning, dual/multi-sourcing, scenario modeling, and structured risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner closely with Production Planning & Fulfillment to align sourcing decisions with build schedules, backlog growth, capacity planning, and customer delivery commitments.
  • Oversee inventory strategies—including safety stock policies, lead-time reduction efforts, and material availability planning—to support on-time production and project execution.
  • Align material and supplier roadmaps with Engineering and Operations to ensure technical specifications, qualification testing, and product lifecycle considerations are incorporated into sourcing strategy.

Cost Management, Value Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) strategies through strategic sourcing, should-cost modeling, value engineering, commercial negotiation, and supply chain optimization initiatives.
  • Utilize spend analytics, market intelligence, and supplier benchmarking to identify savings opportunities and operational improvements across commodities.
  • Implement Lean principles, best-in-class procurement processes, and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support enterprise scalability.
  • Lead annual cost-reduction programs and long-range cost strategy planning to support margin expansion and financial objectives.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Executive Communication

  • Serve as the primary procurement interface with Engineering, Operations, Production Planning, Finance, Program Management, and senior leadership.
  • Participate in strategic planning for growth initiatives, facility expansions, supply chain architecture, and production scaling.
  • Communicate procurement performance, risks, opportunities, and strategy clearly and proactively to executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong alignment and transparency across internal teams to support seamless execution of production and project requirements.
