Director, Supply Planning

L'Oréal

Job Title: Director, Supply Planning

Division: Consumer Products Division

Location: Clark, NJ

Reports To: AVP, Supply Planning

Who We Are

For more than a century, L’Oréal has devoted its energy, innovation, and scientific excellence solely to one business: Beauty. Our goal is to offer each and every person around the world the best of beauty in terms of quality, efficacy, safety, sincerity and responsibility to satisfy all beauty needs and desires in their infinite diversity.

At L'Oréal Operations, we create innovative, inclusive, and sustainable beauty together with our business partners by designing, developing, sourcing, manufacturing, and distributing over 6 billion products globally every year. We support over 36 brands across four L’Oréal divisions. We are consumer-oriented, and we act responsibly all along the value chain.

The Supply Planning Director serves as a pivotal strategic advisor and leader, orchestrating the end-to-end (E2E) value chain for the CPD category. You will move beyond operational balancing to drive long-term organizational transformation, providing high-level evaluative judgment and leadership to a team of Supply Chain professionals.

Strategic Vision & Business Advisory

  • Architect the E2E Value Chain Strategy: Design and steer the category’s global supply planning roadmap, ensuring total alignment between business ambitions and operational capabilities to drive competitive advantage.
  • Strategic Decision Support: Act as a key advisor to senior leadership (DMI and Operations), providing value-added perspectives and data-driven scenarios to influence global trade-offs and investment decisions.
  • Drive Organizational Impact: Lead high-complexity strategic initiatives (e.g., manufacturing network redesign, long-term inventory transformation, R4G) that redefine the category’s cost structure and agility.

Leadership & Talent Excellence

  • Lead a High-Performance Organization: Directly manage and mentor a team of experienced functional leads (Short/Long-term S&OP, Category Planning, Launch, Procurement), fostering a culture of excellence, autonomy, and strategic thinking.
  • Organizational Design: Continuously evaluate and evolve "ways of working" across cross-functional boundaries to eliminate silos, creating a seamless interface between global demand and manufacturing.

Advanced Analytics & Complexity Management

  • Evaluative Judgment in Ambiguity: Solve for unusual complexities in the global supply landscape by developing innovative modeling and supply scenarios that mitigate risk and maximize market opportunities.
  • Optimized Business Outcomes: Move from managing inventory to optimizing the global capital footprint; setting sophisticated parameters for FG/RM/PM that balance service excellence with financial efficiency (E&O and Working Capital).
  • Global Arbitration & Influence: Serve as the final point of escalation and authority for global supply-demand arbitration, translating complex commercial interests into actionable manufacturing priorities.

Value-Added Execution & Governance

  • Global Service Orchestration: Accountable for the overarching service strategy, ensuring that supply chain performance directly enables market share growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Governance & Process Innovation: Own the evolution of the S&OP process, transforming it from a tactical meeting into a strategic business management engine that anticipates market shifts.
  • Launch & Lifecycle Mastery: Oversee the strategic integration of new product innovations, ensuring global availability while proactively protecting the P&L through advanced obsolescence prevention strategies.

Required Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred, reflecting a high level of business acumen).
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations, with a proven track record of managing large-scale, high-complexity global organizations.
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to act as a strategic advisor to Sr Leaders and DMI stakeholders. Must demonstrate advanced mastery in persuasion, negotiation, and the ability to influence global business decisions without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply evaluative judgment to solve problems of unusual complexity. You should possess the "big picture" perspective required to understand how local decisions impact the global end-to-end value chain.
  • Proven experience in leading organizational transformation, "ways of working" redesigns, or large-scale project management (e.g., network changes, R4G) that delivered long-lasting business impact.
  • Superior ability to synthesize massive amounts of complex data into clear, strategic synopses that drive decision-making. You move beyond reporting "what happened" to advising on "what we should do."
  • Deep experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams of high-level, experienced professionals. A commitment to fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture across diverse global markets.
  • A sophisticated understanding of global market dynamics and the ability to navigate complex cultural nuances to achieve harmonized global objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly volatile and ambiguous environment, maintaining a results-oriented focus while managing competing priorities and high-pressure trade-offs.

What’s In It For You

  • Salary Range: $126,900– $184,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
  • Competitive Benefit Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Pension Plan)
  • Hybrid Work Policy (3 Days in Office, 2 Days Work from Home)
  • Flexible Time Off (Paid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Vacation Buy Program, Volunteer Time, Summer Fridays & More!)
