Job Description Summary
The Procurement Buyer is responsible for the purchasing of goods and services from approved suppliers, in a manner consistent with approved quality standards and delivery requirements. The Procurement Buyer will be required to support and development of the purchasing function to advance department or organizational goals, objectives, and interests. Finally, the Procurement Buyer is also responsible for the day-to-day resolution of stakeholder and supplier issues. The position will work with Plant and Administrative Personnel, Corporate Procurement, and external suppliers.
Job Description
  • Incorporate sourcing, contracting, and supplier management principles into daily work activities
  • Gather necessary information to complete sourcing events (spot buys),support negotiations, support contracting,support supplier implementation,and support supplier management activitiesasrequired
  • Purchase assigned items, supplies and materials or servicesin accordance withapproved buying programs using the established procurement policy
  • Assistwith projects at manager's direction
  • Document and resolve supplier quality and performance problemsusingKPI’s, byidentifyingroot causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Assistcustoms brokers as necessary with entry data accuracy,regulations compliance,parts classification, andtransfer pricing agreementsfor customsprocessing
  • Implementof cost improvement projects
  • Assistprocurement resources with category or supplier issues
  • Leadwith identification, development,and implementation of initiatives providingworkingcapital reductions
  • Forecasting, invoice reconciliation, and good receiptsin support ofbusinesscontinuity
  • Solve supply and service problems, ensuringhigh levelsofpricing /contract complianceandseamless customer service to allLamb Weston stakeholders
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent related experience or training
  • 5+ yearsofexperience in procurement,purchasing, or relatedfield.
  • 5+ yearsofworking in a supply chain ormanufacturing firm preferred
  • Ability toleveragecomputer software programs, specificallySAP or a comparable ERP solution, in addition to office productivity tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects
  • Ability to influence managementand build teams
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead
  • Ability tomaintain, develop, and execute departmental vision
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly while also leading and teaching others
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.
Pay Rate or Range: $63,160.00 - $94,750.00
