About the position
As a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, Johnson Controls is seeking a Procurement Director to lead the Building Solutions North America business unit. This role involves managing procurement activities and developing strategic partnerships with business units. The Procurement Director will report directly to the VP Procurement North America and will be responsible for delivering annual goals such as cost savings and revenue growth while driving continuous improvement and functional excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage internal relationships with key business partners including business unit VP/GMs and functional leaders.
- Engage in the business planning process to support business goals and objectives.
- Be an active member of the BU senior leadership team.
- Lead a team of approximately 30 procurement professionals located primarily in North America.
- Develop and implement annual strategic and tactical plans for the procurement function.
- Deliver annual goals such as cost savings, trade working capital improvement, supply base rationalization, revenue growth, and margin improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement and functional excellence.
- Collaborate with regional and global category management organizations.
- Responsible for talent development and succession planning within the procurement function.
- Drive efficiency and simplification of Procure to Pay processes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of procurement experience including experience leading a team.
- Ability to drive strategic supplier partnerships encouraging innovations.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage complex supplier partnerships.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to operate effectively in a large, matrix organization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and drive alignment.
- Solid understanding of procurement policy, processes, and tools.
- Results driven with the ability to achieve goals and self-motivate.
- Ability to challenge status quo and build innovative sourcing ideas.
