Job Summary

As the manager of the Purchasing Department, you will oversee the procurement of all raw materials and hardware for both divisions. Additional responsibilities include management of suppliers, maintaining inventory levels and coordinating facility maintenance to ensure seamless production and operational efficiency. Your demonstrated commitment to quality and expertise in purchasing and inventory management is essential in supporting the company’s manufacturing processes and supply chain needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raw Material Procurement: Work with Process Engineering to manage the purchasing of all raw materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, timely availability. A strong working knowledge of Level I procurement and delivered product verification requirements (per EB2678 / NAVSEA specifications) is preferred.
  • Raw Material Inventory Management: Work with Process Engineering to maintain and monitor inventory levels for raw materials to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Hardware Purchasing: Oversee all hardware procurement, including O-rings, cap screws, dowel pins, and other essential components for both divisions. A strong working knowledge of Level I procurement and delivered product verification requirements (per EB2678 / NAVSEA specifications) is preferred.
  • Hardware Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory levels of all hardware to support continuous operations. Epicor ERP experience preferred.
  • Supplier Coordination: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery timelines. Responsible for verification of supplier approval status, and the monitoring and reporting of supplier performance metrics (OTD, Quality, CUI/ITAR status), as well as supporting Level I vendor audits.
  • Facilities Management: Responsible for the coordination of facility maintenance, upgrades, and 3rd party preventive maintenance activities for all manufacturing, inspection, R & D and safety assets.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with ISO9001/AS9100, EB2678/ NAVSEA (including Level I compliance), and company policies, keeping accurate records of orders, supplier NDAs and agreements, and inventory levels.
  • Departmental Performance: This position is responsible for the supervision and skills development of purchasing department staff to ensure Key Process Indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved. This requires actively monitoring process metrics and individual contributor' performance and taking action when organizational goals and/or employee development plans are not satisfactorily met.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any procurement, inventory-related, or ISO and/or customer compliance issues efficiently and effectively to prevent production delays and mitigate potential process non-conformances.
