The Opportunity

The Procurement Manager leads all procurement operations while managing and developing a team of buyers. This highly visible leadership role drives cost savings, supplier performance, compliance excellence, and strategic sourcing initiatives that directly support production of critical marine propulsion systems.

This position is on-site in Walpole, MA, requiring close collaboration with engineering, operations, finance, and program teams.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Leadership

· Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives

· Lead and mentor a team of buyers

· Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes

Supplier Management & Negotiation

· Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable pricing and terms

· Establish long-term supplier partnerships while maintaining competitive leverage

· Monitor supplier performance and mitigate risk

Cost & Commercial Performance

· Identify and execute measurable cost-savings initiatives

· Manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV)

· Support program requirements with cost-effective sourcing solutions

Compliance & Risk Management

· Ensure adherence to CPSR and FAR/DFARS requirements

· Maintain audit readiness and documentation standards

· Proactively manage sourcing and supply chain risk

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner with engineering, operations, finance, and program teams

· Align procurement strategies with production schedules and growth initiatives

· Provide visibility into procurement performance metrics

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field

· 5+ years of procurement/supply chain experience in manufacturing

· 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role

· Experience in defense or government contracting environments

· Strong negotiation skills with proven cost-savings results

· Working knowledge of CPSR, FAR/DFARS compliance

· ERP system proficiency (Infor Visual, SAP, or similar)

· Ability to work on-site in Walpole, MA

Preferred Qualifications

· MBA or advanced degree

· CPSM, PMP, or similar certification

· Experience with data visualization/reporting tools (Power BI)

· Commodity knowledge in marine propulsion or defense manufacturing

Salary Range: $131K – 195K + Depending upon Experience
