Job Description
The Global Procurement Director, Indirect is responsible analyzing Davis-Standard’s global indirect spend, identifying opportunities and collaborating with functional groups to execute cost reduction and supplier performance improvement projects. Key areas of accountability include: (1) increasing visibility and control over indirect spend, (2) conducting sourcing projects to consolidate vendors and leverage volumes, (3) implementing demand management to review and modify Davis-Standard policies, requirements and specifications and (4) identifying IT tools to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness (5) Developing a category strategy that addresses all Indirect categories and sets savings goals, strategy and KPI’s with category leaders for the suppliers (6) Develop and drive new suppliers into the sourcing mix creating competitive landscape (7) Create strategic sourcing category management team that negotiates in specific operation and sga/overhead areas of the company.
Responsibilities
  • Leads execution of strategic sourcing programs and undertakes specific cost reduction / supplier performance improvement projects.
  • Manages relationships with key indirect suppliers and oversees integration of new suppliers.
  • Regularly reviews key supplier performance metrics and works collaboratively with suppliers and functional groups to drive improvement.
  • Spearheads culturally sensitive cost reduction projects; balances requirements of various stakeholders, facilitates discussion, ensures clarity of decisions, oversees change management processes.
  • Assesses current procure-to-pay processes and works with IT to implement tools globally.
  • Develops standardized savings reporting and auditing processes to ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines.
  • Proactively builds network across all parts of Davis-Standard, including Finance, IT, Marketing, HR, Operations and Legal.
  • Negotiates high-value, high-risk contracts on an ad hoc basis.
  • Leads various team and/or corporate development initiatives (e.g. Global Supplier Agreement Database, Cost Reduction Controlling System, Supplier Performance Measurement Scorecard)
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Min 7 years indirect procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years project management experience
  • Experience with ERP based purchasing systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field including Supply Chain Finance or Engineering disciplines.
  • Strong negotiatiation skills and ability to present to multiple management levels
  • Microsoft Office Skills to include Excel advanced skills required
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, project travel 10%-20% annually
