Salary Range: $155,000 - $175,000 per year (depending on experience)

We are a privately held U.S. company with established global sales and distribution operations serving foodservice and retail customers.


The Senior Director of Global Supply Chain will oversee our global supply chain operations, including international imports, third-party warehousing, and domestic transportation. This role ensures compliant, efficient, and cost‑effective movement of product from origin through U.S. distribution while providing day‑to‑day leadership to the Imports and Logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Imports

  • Lead end‑to‑end international import operations, ensuring compliant, timely, and cost‑effective execution.
  • Personally support import execution activities as needed to ensure continuity and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee customs documentation, broker coordination, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of CBP and FDA requirements, tariffs, duties, and bonded warehouse operations.
  • Identify and proactively resolve risks and issues impacting import execution.


Logistics

  • Oversee domestic transportation operations across all modes.
  • Manage freight claims processes, including timely acceptance or refusal, root‑cause analysis, and coordination with Accounting.
  • Optimize transportation costs and service levels through carrier management and performance monitoring.
  • Resolve transportation‑related issues and monitor key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.


Warehousing

  • Manage and negotiate contracts with third‑party warehouses and logistics providers
  • Evaluate warehouse performance to ensure service levels, compliance, and best practices align with company needs.
  • Partner with internal teams to support inventory flow and stock rotation, minimizing aged or at‑risk inventory.
  • Address gaps in ownership, accountability, or execution across warehousing operations as they arise.


Leadership

  • Provide leadership across Imports, Logistics, and Warehousing functions, balancing strategic oversight with hands‑on operational involvement.
  • Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, and team development.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Sales, QA, and executive leadership to align supply chain strategies with company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation, supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics, imports, and warehousing.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs processes, and domestic freight operations.
  • Background in food or temperature-controlled import environments, a plus.
  • Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of composure and self‑management, with the ability to remain calm and effective in high‑pressure, time‑sensitive situations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Proven negotiation skills, including experience managing vendor and contract negotiations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational execution.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience managing teams and influencing cross‑functional partners.
