Privately held company headquartered Northern Massachusetts (Rt 495) the company operates an integrated light manufacturing and distribution center, with two third-party overflow warehouses in the U.S. With approximately $150 million in annual revenue, over 450 employees.
The Position
The Vice President of Supply Chain & Sustainability is responsible for leading the company's global supply chain organization across the United States and Southeast Asia. This senior executive will oversee sourcing, logistics, customs management, demand planning, quality assurance, sustainable sourcing and new product development (NPD) support. The VP will ensure that the company’s supply chain is agile, resilient, and aligned with the company’s strategic and financial objectives. This role will also serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
The ideal candidate will be a globally minded, results-driven leader with experience developing high-performing teams and leading complex multi-region supply chains. This individual will build supplier partnerships, advance digital transformation, and lead continuous improvement across global sourcing, logistics, and planning processes, while championing sustainable practices that reduce environmental impact and strengthen ethical sourcing across all regions.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and execute the company’s global supply chain strategy in alignment with growth, profitability, and sustainability goals, while building and leading a high-performing global organization.
- Lead global sourcing, logistics, demand planning, and customs compliance to improve cost efficiency, service levels, and supply chain resilience across Southeast Asia and North America.
- Strengthen and manage a diverse supplier network to ensure quality, ethical sourcing, regulatory compliance, and performance against sustainability and innovation objectives.
- Partner with Product Development, Design, and Marketing to ensure supplier readiness and integrated planning for new product launches and innovation initiatives.
- Advance sustainability and ESG commitments through supply chain transparency, responsible materials selection, waste reduction, and carbon footprint minimization.
- Enhance Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to better align demand forecasting, inventory, and capacity planning.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean methodologies, data analytics, and process automation; champion a data-driven culture enabled by digital tools and emerging technologies, including AI.
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to align operational strategies with financial and corporate objectives and deliver executive-level insights and analytics to senior leadership and the Board.
The Candidate
The Company seeks a dynamic and strategic global supply chain executive who brings both operational excellence and leadership depth. A successful candidate will possess extensive experience in international sourcing and logistics, demand planning, customs management, sustainable sourcing and supplier development. This individual will have a proven track record of delivering measurable performance improvements, building global teams, and implementing strategies that balance cost, service, and sustainability.
This role requires a hands-on, collaborative leader with a global mindset, capable of driving results through influence and cross-functional alignment. S/he must be adept at navigating complex international operations while fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. A demonstrated commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, integrating ESG considerations into supplier relationships, materials management, and operational decision-making is essential.
Summary of Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive global supply chain, sourcing, and operations leadership within consumer products or industrial manufacturing, including experience managing international offices and cross-cultural teams.
- Extensive experience sourcing from and managing suppliers across Asia, with proven ability to mitigate geopolitical risk, diversify sourcing strategies, and optimize nearshore/offshore supply bases.
- Proven expertise in demand planning, logistics optimization, customs compliance, and managing multi-region supplier networks to drive cost and process efficiencies.
- Successful track record supporting New Product Development (NPD) and integrating supply chain strategies early in the product lifecycle.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, supply chain analytics, and data-driven decision-making tools, leveraging digital transformation technologies such as AI, predictive analytics, digital twins, and blockchain to enhance supply chain agility and transparency.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and strategic relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executive-level presentations.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement and sustainability practices, with experience implementing supply chain sustainability initiatives, including ethical sourcing, waste reduction, carbon impact management, and supplier ESG evaluation programs.
- Willingness to travel internationally 2–4 times annually, or as business needs require.
