What You'll Be Doing
The US Senior Director, Procurement is responsible for leading the end-to-end procurement function for CIBC’s US Region, overseeing centralized intake, category strategy, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, supplier performance, invoice management, and lifecycle governance. This leadership role is a key member of the Global Procurement team and a champion of the TPM 360 transformation, driving modernization of the Procurement and Third-Party Management Lifecycle (TPML) to enhance agility, reduce manual processes through digital solutions, improve transparency, manage risk, and deliver outstanding stakeholder and supplier experiences.
The position is accountable for optimizing procurement capabilities, supplier management, and contracting across the US Region, ensuring value for money and compliance with service level agreements. The role also manages supply chain efficiency and effectiveness, risk minimization, and contingency planning with secondary suppliers.
Additionally, the US Senior Director, Procurement leads the US Affiliate Management process, including all intercompany arrangements within the US Region and between the Parent and US entities. Responsibilities include planning, maintaining, identifying, negotiating, and contracting intercompany arrangements, ensuring effective and optimized affiliate program operations and alignment with service level objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

How You’ll Succeed
Governance & Risk Management:
- Manage and monitor effective governance of US procurement and affiliate management initiatives, including policies, operating frameworks, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation aligned with enterprise standards.
- Ensure compliance with CIBC’s Code of Conduct, Risk Appetite, policies, and controls; support audits and timely remediation.
- Monitor country risk and provide recommendations regarding international suppliers.
- Serve as the single point of contact for third-party demand in the US, establishing centralized intake processes and consistent category strategies.
- Oversee consistent application of procurement methodology across outsourcing and sourcing initiatives.
- Build procurement capabilities and optimize supplier and contracting processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with US SBU/LOB leaders, enterprise partners, and external suppliers.
- Execute procurement initiatives supporting internal business requirements and manage project progress with external suppliers.
- Ensure agreements with external partners balance strategic advantage, commercial value, quality, and risk.
- Lead US execution of TPM 360 objectives, including operating model documentation, KPI/SLA definition, fast-path risk and contracting models, escalation paths, and procurement value dashboards.
- Champion digital enablement, automation, and AI to reduce manual work and improve transparency and user experience.
- Conduct self-assessment and industry benchmarking to refine the US TPML roadmap and prioritize quick wins.
- Supplier & Affiliate Management:
- Provide market analysis and benchmarking to demonstrate value for money and leading procurement practices.
- Increase US spend under management through proactive category strategies.
- Co-manage strategic, high-spend, mission-critical vendors with business leaders.
- Develop and manage supplier performance programs, including scorecards, SLAs, reviews, and corrective actions.
- Manage relationships with CIBC Legal and external legal partners for efficient negotiation and contract lifecycle management.
- Lead the US Affiliate Management process for intercompany arrangements, ensuring optimal value and service delivery.
- Team leadership of senior category managers, support staff, and Affiliate Management team.
- Success measures tracked via dashboards: cycle-time reduction, cost savings, spend under management, supplier performance, SLA attainment, stakeholder experience, risk/compliance, automation/adoption rates.
- Participation in relevant councils and committees (Affiliate Management Council, Third Party Operating Council, Procurement Senior Leadership Team).
- Internal: Heads of US SBUs/LOBs and their teams, ensuring alignment of procurement solutions with business requirements.
- Enterprise Partners: TPGO, Technology, GORM, Legal, Finance/AP, and related control groups for joint accountability and effectiveness.
- External: Suppliers, vendors, and partners supporting procurement of goods and services.
