A national leader in turnkey microgrid, battery storage, and utility-scale electrical solutions is hiring a Switchgear Procurement Manager to support their explosive growth. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, procurement, and project execution, owning the configuration, quoting, and procurement of LV switchgear for end-of-life replacement programs and major electrical upgrade projects. You'll work closely with engineering, project managers, construction teams, and customers to ensure accurate BOMs, efficient delivery schedules, and highly successful project outcomes. They're looking for a technically strong, solutions-driven professional who can read electrical drawings, configure OEM equipment with precision, solve problems on the fly, and thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with minimal handholding.
Switchgear Procurement Manager Responsibilities
Read and interpret LV electrical distribution drawings to configure and quote switchgear packages using OEM tools. Develop and finalize Bills of Material (BOM), submittals, and procure documentation to support sales, estimating, and engineering teams. Lead procurement scopes for turnkey and electrical upgrade projects ranging from $100k–$2M. Conduct site walks nationwide to verify BOM requirements and installation details. Manage operational dates, equipment delivery schedules, and alignment across accounting, operations, and customer teams. Support change orders, procure punch-list items, and troubleshoot onsite questions with construction and installation teams. Lead procurement takeoff meetings, place equipment orders, and ensure timely, accurate execution. Use Excel and project management tools to track workflows, update schedules, and maintain procurement accuracy. Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure profitable, on-time project delivery.
Switchgear Procurement Manager Requirements
3+ years of procurement experience with LV electrical distribution equipment Strong proficiency with OEM configuration tools Ability to read, interpret, and configure from LV electrical drawings. Solid Excel skills, including formulas. Experience working with major manufacturers such as Eaton, Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, etc. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams. Problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, low-process, entrepreneurial environment. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical field preferred Hands-on electrical installation or contractor experience preferred Expertise in Square D equipment preferred Electrical certifications preferred
