Director, Supply Chain and Procurement

The Director of Supply Chain and Procurement at Aqua-Chem is a strategic position responsible for identifying and qualifying sources of supply for current and/or future parts, components, or materials both for current product lines and future integrations and in such driving best value through a balanced approach of supply chain strategies and objectives (design, performance, quality, delivery, and cost). This position more tactically provides training, coaching and price negotiation support to other buying personnel and monitors overall effectiveness.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN
Pay Range: Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:

• Responsible for monitoring and meeting compliance with company procurement processes and directives
• Researches, identifies, qualifies, and recommends new sources of supply for parts, components, and materials domestic and international.
• Maintain alternate supply sources to avoid production downtime.
• Evaluates supplier quotations utilizing appropriate analysis techniques with emphasis on performance, quality, price, delivery, and service to meet requirements.
• Negotiates, when necessary, driving best value (quality, delivery, terms, and cost objectives) and mitigating risk
• Implements and Negotiates Supply agreements and contracts.
• Manages potential and actual suppliers through the on-boarding process.
• Works cross-functionally across departments to develop timelines, scopes of work, action plans to promote successful new product launch and vertical integration projects.
• Investigates and recommends potential cost savings through alternative Suppliers or parts.
• Investigates, Recommends and Executes sourcing initiatives on savings, supplier performance, risk mitigation and supplier base rationalization.
• Works as a member of a cross functional team
• Handles requests for information, quotations, proposals, and bidding processes.
• Facilitates communications between potential suppliers and internal teams as required.
• Evaluates potential and actual suppliers through site visits as required.
• Trains, evaluates, and supports other supply chain personnel in procurement activities.
• Other tasks as assigned.
  

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with studies in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field is required.
• 5+ years of materials planning and purchasing experience.
• 3+ years of Sourcing experience
• 3+ years of people management experience.
  

Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen
• Strong ability to coach, mentor and lead people to effectively work as a Team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written).
• Knowledge, understanding and application of Sourcing concepts.
• Proficiency in analyzing data from ERP systems, utilizing Excel.
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Focus on the customer when organizing and managing the execution of deliverables.
• Proven ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and utilize data, metrics, and continuous improvement tools to consistently achieve organizational objectives.
• Experience with driving change management with demonstrated ability to influence.
